The sun sets and the traffic builds

I love days like today. I didn’t even pay hardly any attention to the dust in the air today because, well, I live in paradise. The temperature is amazing. The sky is amazing. The mountains are amazing. I’ve lived here a few years now and the beauty that is Las Vegas is never lost on me.

Fridays are always interesting in that you can use them as a sort of barometer for how profitable the weekend will be for you and your friends (at least the ones that work in or around the service and nightlife industry.) How? Well there is a migrational trend that happens weekly from Southern California to Las Vegas. Our city is like the weekend vacation home for wayward Californians in need of some rest and relaxation. The traffic, for at least two, sometimes as much as four hours gets ridiculous, particularly on the inbound lanes of I-15, heading north from the California state line. To the degree in which the traffic slows you can get a rough gauge of how much money you can make, relative to an average Friday.

By the time it took me to drive four miles home from dinner with Elizabeth, I’d have to say it’s going to be a good money weekend. I’d give it a 6.5 out of a possible 10 points on my little non-scientific rating scale ;)

Show me that money, honey!!!
