You need to reread the article rather than immediately implying that it is a slight to cab drivers. No one ever said that there aren't "many hardworking, honest cab drivers out there." There certainly are. A good friend of mine used to be a cabbie.

The point is that there are many out-of-the-way suggestions you just will not get from a cab driver or limo driver or bell desk person because they wouldn't be thought of right away or are not really easy to get to and that sort of thing.

I have been a Las Vegas Cab Driver for many years. I take great pride in my knowledge of the city having resided in Las Vegas for over 20 years. I always provide the best information about dining, shows, and attractions irregardless of whether there is a promotional benefit to me or not. If you truly want to provide accurate information for your website visitors you should not generalize by saying cab drivers are only interested in suggesting things they get paid to suggest. There are many hardworking, honest Cab Drivers out there working to support thier families who provide valuable information to tourists they could never find in a book or brochure.

If your husband would ever throw a tip back in the face of a customer he shouldn't have a license to drive public transportation. That's a good example of what's wrong with cabs in our town. I would personally never tip less than a couple of bucks, but the kind of behavior you are describing - there is no excuse for it.

JUST MAKE SURE TO TIP CABBIE, HUSBAND IS CABBIE AND THEY DON'T MAKE ANY HOURLY WAGE. DID YOU KNOW THAT? THEY ALSO DON'T GET VACATION. THEY HAVE TO WORK 5, 12 HOUR SHIFTS. AND INSURANCE? FORGET IT...REMEMBER-WHEN YOUR FAIR IS 6.40 DON'T GIVE THEM $7 AND TELL THEM TO KEEP CHANGE. MY HUSBAND WILL THROW IT LITERALLY BACK TO YOU. IF YOU CAN'T TIP $2 ON THAT RIDE, DON'T GET INTO CAB. JUST WALK, PLEASE DON'T WASTE THE CABBIES TIME. THEY COULD BE DOING BETTER THINGS WITH THEIR TIME.

It really takes a village to pull off the E BUNNY program every year. The private, charitable group has grown in 16 years, from delivering 25 baskets the first year to more than 800 Easter baskets here in Las Vegas last year.

Baskets go to kids who need them most. Beyond the neon glitz of the Strip, thousands of children live under impoverished circumstances, many homeless.... in temporary housing, under the most depressing conditions.

"We get requests from shelters every year," says coordinator and program founder Barbara Kenig. "We specifically look for groups and organizations that aren't sponsored by large charities or outreach programs; we look for those who otherwise wouldn't have Easter baskets for the kids."

Since 1990, E BUNNY has delivered thousands of baskets to children in need with the generousity of retailers, industry, individual contributors and dedicated volunteers. Merchants and manufacturers across America (the likes of Sam's Club, Russ Berrie and Company, Walmart, Ty, Bestever, 99 Cents Only Stores, and Target Stores) have helped through the years.

Organizations receiving baskets this year include the Las Vegas City Mission, the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, and Straight From the Streets.
In addition, E BUNNY volunteers will pass out baskets to children living in the poorest pockets of the city during the week before Easter, and on Easter morning.

You can make a difference in a child's life by purchasing an Easter basket before March 26th and donating it to the E BUNNY "One Special Basket for One Special Child" program. Easter baskets range in price from $7-15 and up, and they can be purchased at any drugstore, supermarket, Walmart, Target or other retail store.

Easter is the season of hope and renewal. What better time to put a smile on the face of a child who really doesn't have much to smile about, and be part of a community effort that makes a real difference.

For further informaton on the "One Special Basket for One Special Child" program, or to donate an Easter basket, contact Barbara Kenig at (702)498.9808 or e-mail barbarakenig@aol.com

Great story! I've always wanted to have a go at base jumping, but never really had the guts to do it.
Perhaps I should give it another go.
